We install a fair number of solar geysers for landlords, not just owner-occupiers. If you’re weighing it up for a rental property, here’s what tends to matter most.
It’s a property improvement, not just a utility swap
A solar geyser is a long-term addition to the property itself, not something tied to a specific tenant. Like any property improvement, the value sits with the building.
Assess before you commit
The same rule applies to rental properties as anywhere else: suitability depends on the roof, existing hot-water setup, and the property’s realistic hot-water demand (which can differ from an owner-occupied home depending on occupancy). We’d rather assess the actual property than quote blind.
Coordinating access
If the property is tenanted, installation timing usually needs to work around the tenant’s schedule — something we can help plan for once a quote is confirmed.
